Tonight, my wife and I played our first two-player game of Polders. We are still learning the game (questions at the end), but we both enjoyed the game and think we'd like to try it again. Thanks for a neat game with great artwork Todd! - it looks like a really beautiful game on our table...but does indeed take lots of space!

The game took us about an hour and a half to setup, read, understand the rules, and play. Hopefully it will go much quicker the second time around. Our scores were 32 to 37. My wife won.

We did have a few questions about the game that didn't seem clear in the rules:
1. What is the max number of people allowed on a farm/village/city?
2. The first Flood card was drawn before anyone had merchants on any city. What should we do in that case? Would anybody still get rewarded with the City Hall card?
3. In a 2-player game, at the end of the round the pawns are not removed. The next first player is supposed to pick an unclaimed role. Can s/he pick an unclaimed role on the same card where the other role is already claimed by a player in the previous round?
4. In Phase 2, do you HAVE to (a. place a new Polder card) or (b. drain a Polder)? Or could you PASS?
5. In one of the pictures Todd posted on the WIP Thread, we saw a cube placed on a Grist Mill. We couldn't find anything about placing cubes on Grist Mills in the rules. Are we supposed to place cubes there for some reason?
