Been a while since I looked but I believe it should read:"Subtract the die found in the hit
shield space to the amount previously
calculated, if the result is more than
zero, the ship has been hit (see being
hit for the effects), if the result is
equal or LESS than zero adjust the
die in the shield space accordingly
(remove if the result is zero)."
