While doing my review of the game I noticed that there was a odd tendency for the player in the B start position to need to take longer to get around the track than A.So I did a quick analysis using the base layout and then a 90 degree turn to one tile to see what it affected.
At default configuration it takes A 24 spaces and B 26. And that at least has been consistent. If A or B is at the disadvantage it is always by 2 so far.
Heres the rundown of just 30 layouts.
A advantage = 18
B advantage = 2
0 advantage = 10
This is mostly due to B being in the "outer track" as it were and thus having a fractionally longer distance to travel.
There are ways to counter A's advantage though.
First off is Hacking: this can force A out into the outer track or outright stall them in place. The drawback is you aren't moving that register.
Second off is Pushing: this can move A quite a bit out into the outer track if timed right. The drawback is it is gong to move you too further out. But if timed right, not as far as A was.
Third off is of course just good ol' Blasting them to scrap.
