Great AAR Lou. And it seems that this game is quick to set up and quick to play, but with lots of theme.

The placement phase (that is placing workers and patrols) takes place before the action phase (like spending resources to increase morale), so the morale gets increased AFTER the patrols have been placed.

Thanks for the confirmation. I did play it that way in the end. I won that game but it was a hollow victory as all my workers were arrested. 🙁

I often use cereal boxes for print-and-play games, but I always cut the cardboard and the paper separately before gluing. It takes much longer, but I can't manage to cut carboard+glue+paper correctly without damaging the paper.

Additionally, the number of patrols is determined right at the start of the placement phase, so even if something you did in placement did manage to change the number of patrols it would still only take effect on the following day.

Don't underestimate the resolve of local partisans and rejoice in their unending willingness and supply!

Also, why not try to rescue them in the following missions?
- We Have Ways Of Making You Talk (**)
A Resistance agent has been arrested and is being interrogated by Axis secret service agents at a prison facility outside of the town. Rescue her!
Visit the military prison once for reconnaissance, another time to plant 2 explosives, and a third time with 2 weapons to bust her out of jail.

Thank you Heiko! Just one last thing, could you please specify which fonts did you use? And would you mind to also share a template for the rule book?

Thanks, G.H. If you try it, please let me know how it turns out - good or bad. 🙂

If you do, I "Strongly" suggest you assemble it in its larger format - the 3-piece map and 1 set of units on the A4-size sheet. For some reason, it's just more enjoyable to play with - maybe because it gives you a bigger/better sense of the game's/campaign's expanse. The map - even if in German - is easier to read too.

I added notes on the typefaces used to the download links in the files section. I will add a text-only version of the rules sometime soonish, but will not share a template for the rule book.

thanks guys, I had a bit of struggle on that point, so i came here. for some reason the way it is worded I am not getting it. I think an example would be helpful, the way Jamey explained it made it make sense. I really like this idea too, in general, in terms of the dice management. I am really liking it as I play my first game, the way the realms are randomized. I have been doing roll and writes most of the summer, and this is different, and I really like that simultaneous play aspect. I guess it is gentleman's honor that one does not copy the sheets of another player, not that I guess anyone I know would do that :)

To clarify further, I could end up with 3 4's and then maybe 2 3's, and if I was able to cross both out I would get 5 points?

What are you using for cutting? I’ve found that using a rotary cutter and a ruler works fairly well - though I often make a second or even third pass to get all the way through.

Each ally's turn is Action --> Recoup --> Upkeep.

If you kill an enemy with your Action, does combat end immediately or do you have to complete Recoup & Upkeep for that Ally?

The king sent his best cartographers to map the territories of the kingdom. The player who returns with the map closest to reality will be the winner.

In this roll & write game each player must draw different types of territories on their sheet, trying to meet as best as possible 4 different scoring criteria in each game. In their turn the player must decide what type of territory they will draw that turn, roll the dice and choose a result to define the amount they want to draw of the chosen territory. The rest of the players must choose the amount from the remaining dice and draw the type of territory chosen by the active player.

The game is available in both English and Spanish.

This roll & write game has been presented at the 4th BGG Roll & Write game design contest.
